Raiders Summit Pro-Am Season kicks off at ‘The Farm’

As the weather warms up the racing moves slowly but surely northward, and the second of the season’s Summit Pro-Am events, the Division 4 Renegades opener, recently went in the books with a minimum of fuss. A slight schedule adjustment was made because of cold temperatures prior to the start of the race, but the racers prevailed and the event was wrapped up and the trophies handed out with no further problems.

Complete coverage of the event from North Carolina’s Farmington Dragway can be found in Issue 5.

The Mardi Gras Nitro Jam, the second major event of the season, went off equally well at State Capitol Raceway outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and full coverage, photos, reports, and a lot more will be available in the upcoming Issue 6.

In addition, there’s a detailed overview of the Summit Pro-Am Tour, another Technically Speaking feature by John DiBartolomeo, coverage of the Sumerduck and Bluegrass track banquets, and a story on the racing Kerl family.I-40 Dragway is in the Track Feature spotlight this time around, and all of our regular features are included in the latest issue as well.

CSI Norwalk presents a Q&A with Pete D’Agnolo, Larry Crum talks about his jet-fueled experiences at the Mardi Gras Nitro Jam in “As The Cookie Crumbles,” there’s another great nostalgia photo from the IHRA archives, and of course IHRA President Aaron Polburn offers his insights and observations of drag racing and the world in general in “The Last Word.”

Read and enjoy!
