Wild PMRA Pro Mods join nitro lineup at MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals

With three winners in three events so far this season, the competition is tight as the Pro Modified Racing Association gets ready for its next event as part of the MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals. This annual event is held at the Grand Bend Motorplex, and this year will take place July 20-22 as part of the IHRA

Coming off his recent win at the Cayuga Dragway, three-time series champion Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario has taken the lead in the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Global Emissions Systems Inc. with 838 points. Jeff Roth of New Dundee, Ontario is second with 798 points, and Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda, New York is third with 797 points. Both Roth and Grainy have won PMRA races this year. Roth took the season opener at Cayuga, and Grainy captured his first event after several years in the series by winning the race at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.
Both Boland and Roth race 1941 Willys Pro Modifieds, and the veteran Grainy competes with a 1967 Chevy Camaro. Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario is next with his Camaro Pro Modified at 796 points, while the Corvette of Derek Hawker of Corbyville, Ontario rounds out the top five with 781 points. Qualifying for the PMRA begins Friday, July 20 at 7 p.m., followed by qualifiers Saturday, July 21 at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Then at 8:30, as part of the Nitro Jams “Night of Fire”, round one of eliminations will take place. Final PMRA elimination rounds will continue Sunday, July 22 at 1 p.m. The PMRA will also hold a non-qualifiers race on the Sunday.
In addition, the PMRA group will join four nitro classes at the battle on the lake as Top Fuel, AMSOIL Prostlagia Nitro Funny Car, Nitro Harley and Nostalgia Fuel Altered join the ranks.
